3 hours and 7 miles later

I like being outside. But then again, I hate bugs. And dirt. Okay maybe I don’t like being outside that much. But my point is, I would rather spend time outside rather than walk around a mall. My friend, Steph, and I decided to get out and go on a hike. That’s right. A hike!

Steph had heard about a trail nearby that led to a waterfall. Heck yes I wanted to go. So we headed to the canyon which was about 15 minutes away. We started hiking around 1pm and the weather was perfect. There was a little breeze and not too much heat. There was first a street, but that didn’t last for long.

Well, we walked…

and walked…

and walked some more.

And just a little more.

About an hour and a half into the hike, we hadn’t even reached the entrance to the trail yet. We reached a national forest but no trail. Boooo.

We decided to turn around and tackle it another day.Β

3 hours of hiking. About 7 miles. And we were pooped! But we saw some beautiful scenery…

And some graffiti.

And a creepy house.Β

And a cool log.

But we’ll be back.Oh yes we will.

  1. I love getting lost on hikes! As long as you semi know how to get out it will all be fine πŸ˜‰ It looks like you guys had a perfect day for it too. Super jealous. It’s been cld and rainy where I am lately.

  2. I love going on hikes!! 2 years ago, my family and I went to Ludington and decided to go hiking at the state park and we ended up hiking for like 4 hours (maybe more!) but it was so much fun! I love hiking and wish I could do it more but there’s no where around my house to hike. Plus it’s freaking cold outside! πŸ˜›
Looks like you had a great time though! Love all the pictures πŸ™‚

  3. I love hiking! even if you didn’t get to see the waterfall, those sites still look really pretty! It’s just so relaxing to take a nice hike with a friend!!!!

  4. And this is exactly why I want to move to California! When I was there last year, I did so much hiking – not so much here in Chicago 😦 You are so lucky you can do this year round πŸ™‚

Those are some BEAUTIFUL pictures!! Nothing like pretty scenery to brighten up my mood (thanks to the crappy sunless weather chicago has had haha).
