About the Health Freak College Girl

Hi! My name’s Haley. I’m an 18 19 year old health freak. Here are some things you might want to know about me:

  • I’m a health freak..oh wait..you already knew that
  • I’m a freshman in college studying kinesiology
  • I love to run and compete in triathlons
  • I love my family more than anything. My mom is my best friend in this entire world
  • I have a serious addiction to frozen yogurt…but really
  • I can spend hours roaming the aisles of supermarkets (especially Trader Joes, Whole Foods, Mothers Market, and Henry’s)
  • I have a dog and cat who I absolutely adore
  • I live in California but I dream of one day living in Washington of Oregon
  • One day I hope to change the way the world eats (I know…a big dream)
  • I’m not vegetarian or vegan but I completely respect the people who are. But I do consider myself to be vegetarian 80% of the time
  • I hope to one day become a nutritionist or maybe even own my own healthy restaurant. My sister calls me the next Jillian Michaels πŸ™‚

So that’s me in a nutshell. Oh yeah, one other thing, I have also dealt with an eating disorder.** I don’t like to dwell on my past but maybe I’ll write a post about it someday.

So I wrote those posts. Check out my ED past in Part 1, Part 2, and Part 3.

Photo props go to my sis

I hope you enjoy my blog! Leave comments (nothing negative please!) or just roam around πŸ™‚

  9. Hey Haley,

Wow, it’s scary how much we have in common. I too am a native Southern Californian who just started my freshman year in college, so I’m also learning to balance exercise, food, and a healthy living style with a whole new place. I’ve never been to Washington/Oregon, but the foodie opportunities there sound amazing to me. Anyway, just thought I’d stop by and say hi πŸ™‚

P.S. What part of Southern California are you from?? (Sorry, not to be creepy or anything like that haha.)

    • hey girl! thanks for stopping by and i’m so glad that there are other college freshmen like me πŸ™‚ i’m from south orange county. what about you??

  10. You seem like so much fun and I love your blog! I can totally relate to you, especially the frozen yogurt addiction and being able to lose yourself in a grocery store (esp. Whole foods and trader joes) for hours on end without realizing it!!

I’d love it if you would check out my new blog!!

  11. Just came across your blog and love it! I too could roam health food stores for hours! It’s a weird thing, but everything interests me there! ha Your ED story is very inspiring, good for you for beating it! You’re truly inspiring!

  12. I am studying Kin too! How do you like it so far? Any plans for after you grad?? I am graduating this year, and I still have no idea what I want to do! I am thinking maybe Holistic Nutrition.

Great blog πŸ™‚ It is nice to read about other people in school! Sometimes I think I am the only one in the blog world!

    • wooo! i always love “meeting” other student bloggers. i’m actually transferring next year and am switching my major to nutrition. i think holistic nutrition would something totally awesome. it’s definitely something i would love to do πŸ˜€

      • Hi there!

So I choose to reach out on this post in particular as I can relate to everything you said above. I am also a blogger and am hoping to touch upon more nutrition and exercise, but stick to just about everything. I love your idea about competing 21 races (marathon/half) before your 21st! That’s such a great idea, I wish I had thought about it. I actually competed in the Wildflower triathlon on my 21st, so maybe look into a race on your birthday if you are lucky!

I am majoring in marketing, but would love to know how nutrition is!

  13. Hi Haley- I stumbled upon you’re blog because I’m a personal trainer with a health and fitness blog addiction..I have one too, but much prefer reading others πŸ™‚ I have a feeling we’d be pretty good friends if we really knew each other… I read your “about me” to my boyfriend and he thought I wrote it about myself! πŸ™‚ I also struggled with and ED when I was younger. Good for you for making positive changes and embracing the lessons we learn along the way. Best of luck in your endeavor!
