Before I get to today’s post, I didn’t know that the True Life: I Have Orthorexia video from yesterday only played in the U.S. So I’m really sorry to all non-U.S. folks! I tried looking on YouTube for it, but no luck. But when I do find it, I will let you guys know ūüôā But onto today…

Guess what I did for the first time this month? (If you couldn’t tell from the title.) I participated in Foodie Penpals! This monthly event is hosted by Lindsay at The Lean Green Bean.

When TV shows ended with a lesson and the whole family hugging and happy. 

When your mom had to bribe you with a pack of gum to get your shots.

When the Rugrats were still babies and not all grown up.

When there were boy bands.

“Welcome to good burger, home of the good burger, can I take your order?” Enough said.¬†

When you begged your parents for Nickelodeon magazine.

When you played soccer just for the snacks.

When the Fresh Prince of Bel Air would come on and you would sing every single word of the intro. (Okay. So I still do that.)

When the hardest decision was what toy you wanted in your Happy Meal.

When Pluto was still a planet.

When you and your friends did M.A.S.H. because it totally predicted your future.

When people weren’t glued to their cell phones, computers, and iPods.

Where there was only one gameboy instead of who knows how many there are now.

When “I wanna really really really wanna zig a zig ahh” made total sense.

When Lisa Frank was the biggest trend, not True Religion, Abercrombie, or Gucci.

When running the mile in PE class was like the biggest deal….ever.

When scrunchies were still cool.

When you were convinced that Furby’s were pure evil.

When Lunchables were the best lunch.

When summers were spent outside playing on the Slip ‘n Slide.

When razor scooters were the best way of transportation.

When you played Heads Up 7 Up during class.

When you collected Pokemon cards but had no idea what to do with them so you just stared at them.

When you had Groovy Girl dolls and had to have every piece of clothing to dress them up.

When you wore stick on earrings.

WIAW: a day in San Francisco (sort of)

It’s that time again…WIAW! I decided to head into San Francisco today, not exactly sure of what I was going to do there. Before I left, I had a smoothie with frozen berries, banana, almond milk, coconut water, protein powder, green powder, and ground flax seeds.

After sitting in lovely traffic for awhile, I made it to the city and headed for Crissy Field. I tied up my running shoes and off I went for a run! I wasn’t sure where I was going but it was beautiful.

I ended up making it up to the bridge and ran across there.

Just under 6 miles which is the furthest run I’ve done in far to long!

By that time, I was ready for something to eat so I headed to Rainbow Market which I’ve heard about before. They had an awesome bulk section! One part had almost every dried fruit imaginable.

I ended up not getting much but I did grab a Vanilla Coconut Almond Milk which I have had my eye out for.

I also got a Botanical No. 3 kombucha and a vegan/gluten-free ginger cookie. The cookie was so good!

But you know what’s not good? When your kombucha decides to go crazy on you and overflow!

I also had an orange and trail mix but no picture. I really didn’t know what to do after that so I went to Berkley. But once again, I had no idea what to do! So I just came back to school. Once getting back to the dorm, I was more than ready for a snack.

After some TV watching and painting my nails, it was time for dinner.
Salad with corn, carrots, kidney beans, olives, hummus, broccoli, and a potato (which was then slathered in BBQ sauce).

Do you ever randomly drive around, without a plan? (i.e. like me today)
Has your kombucha ever spazzed out on you before??

just another super sunday

1. I was really happy to hear about everybody’s “me” time the other day! I took another outing on Friday and went for a walk around a park. Iced green tea from Starbucks and another beautiful day.

¬†2. I am officially out of walnut butter. I’ve been trying to make it last for as long as possible but it had to come one day. Oh well! I’ll be home in less than 2 weeks…then I can make all the walnut butter my heart desires.

3. So remember that razorback shirt I made the other day? Well I found an even easier way to make them. Blogilates posted a super easy how-to video here. No sewing necessarily. All you need is a pair of scissors and an old shirt. I have already made 3…

4. This week’s¬†Healthy Living Blogger Newsletter¬†is the first one with the team so you really should sign up!

5. I’m currently reading Health Food Junkies by Steven Bratman. I’ll post all about it later but it’s basically about orthorexia and how to deal with it. I am loving it so far and it’s filled with such awesome info.

6. Want to know a non-country song I have been loving lately? Payphone by Maroon 5. This is surprising because a) it’s not country and b) I usually don’t like Maroon 5. (Don’t listen to it if you’re sensitive to bad words.)

7. The other day I saw a video on Pinterest from Don’t Be “That” Guy. Watch it now. And then the rest of their videos. Hilarious!
