WIAW yeeee buddy

Happy WIAW everyone ๐Ÿ™‚ I’m not gonna talk about Pretty Little Liars like last time even though I reallyyyyy want to. I will control myself.ย

Sorry. I have no idea how that ended up there. HA just kidding. I’m not sorry ๐Ÿ˜‰

Onto WIAW

This morning started out earlyyyy. 7am. Okay, so not that early. My mom had to go to San Diego for something so my sister and I tagged along because, ya know, we have no life. Before heading out, I grabbed something to ease my hunger.

Coffee + Skim Milk + Almond Milk + Vanilla Extract + Pumpkin Pie Spice + Maple Syrup
and a banana.

I drank the coffee and ended up falling asleep (obviously caffeine really affects me ๐Ÿ˜‰ ). It should have only been an hour drive but it turned into about an hour and a half thanks to traffic. Most likely I was like the girl on the bottom. So hawt.

I woke up just when we pulled into city hall. Then my mom had to go inside and do whatever it was that she needed to.

[Insert lots of playing on iPhone] I also ate my banana at this time.

About an hour later and she was done and ready for breakfast. Hallelujah! Because I was about to eat my arm off.

Breakfast
We ended up going to Claire’s on Cedros. We went there after one of my triathlons and it was amazing. Last time, I got the multigrain pancakes with bananas and pecans. It was totally drool worthy. But this time, I was feeling something savory so I got the Divorciados with scrambled eggs, corn tortillas, and no queso fresco.

It hit the spot.

We then headed home. I had a good time playing with the GPS and adding phone numbers and addresses to it. (I’m easily amused.)

Lunch
I get hungry fast, so it was no surprise when my stomach started to grumble when we got home.

smoothie: frozen berries, frozen banana, spinach, ground flaxseed, protein powder, almond milk

Obviously my cat wanted in on the action.

Snack

Mary's Gone Crackers rosemary & olive oil crackers, red bell peppers, carrots, and tzatziki

Followed by a few cuties…

Dinner
Spring rolls!! Don’t be fooled by only one in the picture. I had about 5 ๐Ÿ™‚ย

This time, there was spinach, carrots, cucumber, jicama, and organic chicken inside. It hit the spot. And my family loved it too!

Dessert
Look what I found at Trader Joes!ย

Mosaic of Chocolates…mmmm. Inside, there is: dark sea salt almond, white cranberry pistachio, milk cranberry pistachio, and marble. I ended up having the dark sea salt almond. It was a little too salty too me (well duhhh Haley, there’s sea salt in the name!) but once I took some salt off, it was delicious.

In other news…

On Thursday, I am going to have a minor surgery. It’s too remove a cyst on my wrist. It’s about a 20 minute procedure so it’s small but I still need to be put under. The doctor said it could be sore for about 6 weeks which sucks. But I am ready to get it removed because it has hindered me in so many other areas. The surgery is at 1:45pm which means I can’t eat that day. Gahhhh! But oh well. It will be worth it.

What is your favorite chocolate?
Sweet or savory breakfast?ย

  1. A twenty minute surgery with six weeks of soreness?! ๐Ÿ˜ฆ That does not sound like fun. I’ll be praying for you!

My favorite chocolate is dark chocolate. I usually have a sweetish breakfast (if cocoa + peanut butter would be considered sweet).

What kind of protein powder do you use?

  2. I have seen those chocolates at TJs, and they look totally delicious, but I still haven’t tried them! I will have to pick some up next time I am there! I always go for sweet breakfasts! I like eggs, but I almost never eat them in the morning

  3. My favorite chocolate right now is 70% dark chocolate Lindt . (I love love love milk chocolate but I can’t stop, and I’ll binge on it so dark chocolate it is ! )

Sometimes i like eggs and fruits/toasts for breakfast, but I’d rather have a peanut butter and banana sandwich, or a banana PB yogurt mess, or some oats with PB and banana (everything with some PB and banana :p )

  4. This entry is so funny to read because my family has the same plate/bowl ware as you have!! It was like “hey, I didnt eat that!” haah. That breakfast place sounds really good. We have a place near us called 50 South that I always go to for breakfast. I usually get Buckwheat pancakes short stack with bluenberryes, but next time perhaps an omelette will do…
Good luck on your surgery. I reccommend a huge snack as close as you can to the beginning of fasting time!
I love dark chocolate, often with interesting flavours in (like sea salt or sesame). And 90% of the time I like sweet breakfast.

  5. Oh that surgery doesn’t sound fun, I hope it goes really well!
Your smoothie looks delicious, I need to get back on the smoothies, haven’t had one in too long.
I adore spring rolls, the more veg in them the better ๐Ÿ™‚
My favourite chocolate would be raspberry dark chocolate – so tasty!

  6. Yumm your mexican food looks great! After I moved up to the midwest I have not been able to find any good mexican food. It’s so sad!

  7. Those Mary Gone crackers look so good, I’ve never heard of them! And your smoothie has me swooning heehee
Yikes about the surgery though, I’m sure all that yumtastic chocolate will heal you up in no time ๐Ÿ˜‰
And dude that picture of the two ladies sleeping had me DYING!!! SO FUNNY!

  8. Sorry about your surgery. ๐Ÿ˜ฆ I am glad it is minor! However, NEVER hesitate to post on Pretty Little Liars…SO GOOD! This weeks episode KILLED me! I am dying for next week! ๐Ÿ™‚

I am a total sweets person–my favorite chocolate is the kind covering a peanut with a colorful candy-coating (I am obsessed with Peanut M&M’s)

  9. Oh no,a surgery doesn’t sound funny at all! I will be thinking of you, girl! ๐Ÿ˜ฆ
I love white chocolate a lot,but milk chocolate is also great.
And well,it depends on my mood if I prefer a sweet or savory breakfast. But I always need some fruit or veggies in the morning,my body’s craving vitamins then sooo much! ๐Ÿ˜‰

  10. CHOCOLATE! And a KITTY CAT! Chocolate of all kinds except white chocolate. It’s too sweet. Dark is my fave.
I normally eat a bland breakfast. Sweet makes me sick and I never have time for savory.

  11. I am so jealous that you’re only a drive away from SD. I love that place. I have family that live in mission beach but I am a plane ride away..how unfortunate haha. Those are some AWESOME eats..who doesn’t love a good smoothie! Oh and hummus of course.

You’ll be in my thoughts during your minor surgery..I am sure you will do AWESOME.

    xoxo

  12. Aw, I’ve had to have a cyst removed before. It’s not bad at all. It’ll be over before you know it. I’m sorry that you have to have it done though!
It sounds like you had a fun day with your family. I love San Diego- I’m about the same distance as you are which is so nice. Your breakfast looks delicious! When I have breakfast at home, I usually prefer sweet. But when I’m eating out I almost always order something savory. I have no idea why!

  13. That’s just horrible… a 20 minute surgery, but you’re gonna be sore for weeks AND can’t eat that day (since it’s so late in the afternoon). Gotta be the pits, I don’t know what the worst part of that is.

All the food in your post looks delish! I wish we had trader joes.

  14. Ooo poop on the surgery ๐Ÿ˜ฆ I am sorry you have to go through that!
Sweet breakfast for me… although very rarely I will switch it up!
I also wanted to tell you that you have one of the best boards on Pinterest I have ever seen! So many great pins and I hope you don’t think I am #1 creeper by re-pinning basically everything you have.
Don’t hate me for it haha
I want to create an ED board now too… because the one you have is awesome!

    • hahah thanks! and you should totally make an ED board. i love it. i look at it whenever i feel down on myself

  15. Mmmmm, chocolate! I think my TO-DO list for the day was very simular to the one pictured.I took a “sick” day and just layed around alllll day. I needed it! Good luck with everything!

    Whitney

    • Allow yourself more chocolate throughout the day. I know that may sound weird but that could help with the late nigh binging. If you allow yourself to eat it, then you will put those cravings at ease. I had the same trouble with carbs. I used to never allow myself to eat it so I would push it off. But at the end of the night, I would binge on any sort of carbs that I could find. As for the bedtime snack, you may not be eating enough throughout the day. You may seem okay but once the day is coming to an end, your body begins to tell you, “I need more food.”

  16. I’m so sorry about the surgery! Haha, I would actually die if I couldn’t eat the whole day. I’m so used to it now. Best of luck! (I’m always really nervybee about anesthetics…so I’ll shut up before I scare you, ehehe.) The pancakes sounded delicious; but then again, that plate looked like it could win a modeling competition. So yummy.
My favorite chocolate is Dark Chocolate Orange; ever tried it? =) Or with ginger. And I am a sweet breakfast person. I once had porride with salt and butter and no sugar….I think I almost gagged, ahah. My stomach was not impressed.
    GOOD LUCK, FRIEND!

  17. favourite chocolate? oh dear, there are so many. i love amedei and valrhona’s superdark ones. Hotel chocolat has an amzing Chuao from Peru and MOntezuma has the best vegan truffles. my favourite vegan bars are definitely from rawliving and of course OM bars. (i guess u must notice that i reaaaaally love chocolate. in terms of breakfast, i enjoy both, sweet and savoury! really depends on my mood!
